At a young offender institution in Belgium, Joe is preparing for his release. He is ambivalent: freedom calls to him but scares him at the same time. His thoughts are abruptly distracted by the arrival of a new boy in the cell next door: a tattoo artist called William. Opposites attract and they’re drawn to each other. The nearer that Joe’s release comes, the more he doubts what being free, being loved and being taken seriously really means.
