Sameblod is about Elle-Marja, who goes to nomad school and decides to break from her Sami heritage and become Swedish. It is also a tale of Sweden’s shameful colonial history, about belonging and exclusion, heroism and uprising, shame and guilt. This is a film which goes deep and is disturbing, challenging us to talk about the individual and national rewriting of history.
