Oskar, Lilli and their mother are from Chechnya and have lived in Austria for six years when the authorities decide to deport them. After a failed attempted suicide, the mother is sent to a home for the mentally ill and the deportation is delayed. Oskar and Lilli, who are sent to different foster families, meet up in secret.
