En kärlekshistoria, which celebrated its 50-year jubilee recently, is one of Swedish film’s absolute classics. The main narrative follows the young couple in love, Annika and Per, but the director, Roy Andersson, also depicts the characters that surround them with sharpness, humour and warmth.  In short, evocative sequences, their hopefulness is set against the boredom of middle age.
