Just as everything is nice and peaceful where Bamse and his friends are, they receive an urgent call for help from Skalman’s old research colleague, Beanka, who has mysteriously vanished on a field trip. Lilla Skutt attempts to explain why it is always a bad idea to go out on an adventure without really knowing whether it will end well. However, the friends leave on a rescue mission that takes them by hungry wolves, selfish baddies and dangerous volcano eruptions.
