One cold winter’s day in 1940, little Jules and his family move in with Uncle Jovite, who is mayor of his village in Northern Quebec. Jules is sick with leprosy and the children at school think that his arms look disgusting. When his dog runs into the forest, Jules has no choice but to follow after to find him. By a river, he meets Asha, of the indigenous peoples, and no one knows the forest as she does.
